When your screen is white - an empty word page, or the Google page, your computer monitor consumes 74 watts, and when it’s black it consumes only 59 watts. In a response to this article Google created a black version of its search engine, called Blackle, with the exact same functions as the white version, but with a lower energy consumption, check it out …
The first LCD panel sporting a VESA-approvedDisplayPort 1.1 jack was just announced by Samsung — a world’s first. The 30-inch LCD pumps a 2,560 x 1,600 pixels with a 10-bit color depth at a smokin’ data rate of 10.8Gbps over a single port.
We’re talking about a Sammy S-PVA panel with 180-degree viewing angle, 1,000:1 contrast, 6-ms response, and 300cd/m2 brightness.
In a moment we’ve been waiting for since the first time we saw The Jetsons, the first flying car has finally gone on sale. Just like the car George uses to drop off the kids, the MollerM200GVolantor is shaped like a saucer. To avoid the need to pass FAA regulations, the civilian version of the Volantor is restricted to heights of 10 feet, but can travel as fast as 50mph and fly for up to 90minutes. Military or rescue versions could be unencumbered by such limitations. Depending on the number of orders, prices could be as low as $90,000. Video of the Volantor in action after the jump.
“Nokia has acquired Twango, the feature-rich media sharing site. substantially all assets of Twango have been taken on by Nokia, which will soon offer users a way to share content on the web as well as on their mobile devices. The plan is to provide a seamless integration of Twango on both the Internet and on your cell phone. This will make room for a new way for people to share content and stay connected. With the ability to share photos, videos, Twango’s availability in an integrated, cross-platform existence will offer access to friends and their content, as well as a way to organize and manage your own content.
Twango has recently added Google Earth into its own suite of services, creating a new, visual way for users to find each other and share information about their content. Nokia is clearly looking to offer more social tools with its mobile offering, as it’s developing Widsets and working with companies like Jaiku in order to do so.
Nokia isn’t the only mobile company becoming more social. Samsung is getting ready to release a YouTube phone, Verizon has teamed up with Veoh, and Sprint Nextel is creating a mobile community of its own.”
A dramatic increase in traffic has resulted for publishers that have built and deployed widgets on the now-open Facebook platform, according to an analysis of Quantified Publishers* by Quantcast Corporation, an open internet ratings service.
“Just six weeks into Facebook’s open platform initiative, we are seeing striking results,” said Konrad Feldman, cofounder and CEO of Quantcast, which terms the phenomenon “The Facebook Effect.”
With a Facebook App, not only with users be able to interact with your brand it will drive traffic to your website.

As it is my first post over here I just want to drop kind of practical curiosity. Guys, if there is any relationship anniversary coming up, that may be your pick for a love one. Ladies, I’m sure you would get attention on streets immediately! Cheers!
Been a while since you’ve read an 11 page rant? You’re in luck! Careful, though. PG language ensues. The impatient need not shy away - the text is rather large.
My thoughts? Relax, dude. The net is still in beta. How about you go help instead of crying.
“A number of graffiti artists have been tagging everything thought to be impossible without being caught. Well — it’s actually not illegal for them. They’re not using paint. As it turns out, time-lapse photography isn’t just for blooming flowers, skyscapes, or brake lights anymore. Termed Light Graffiti, tag artists are taking their colour to an all new level.”

“On January 20, 2006, Eric called Jeremy on his lunch break and said “what if we get someone to count to 1 million on the internet?”It was not long after when we determined that person must be Jeremy. He was the perfect fit.We needed another brilliant mind to help make this happen so we brought in our long time friend Rob.Since the establishment of the new triumvirate there has been no turning back.”
27 July 2007 is the launch date for the BBC iPlayer. As soon as a show is broadcast it will be available for download and can be played for a week. Important note is that this is application based, not web - which is interesting given the release of Adobe Air and Microsoft Silverlight which both centre around desktop web experiences. The iPlayer will only be available for UK TV license payers at launch.
BBC iPlayer is currently in closed environment testing amongst some 15,000 people. It will go live to the general public in open Beta on 27 July, allowing the number of users to increase over the summer in a controlled manner, before a full marketing launch in the autumn.
