Christmas Party Teaser

November 9, 2011

Christmas is a lively time of the year with everyone feeling quite festive and eager to have fun, last year Amnesia celebrated it whilst lawn bowling and it reminded me of a bad episode of ‘Murder she wrote’, (sorry Jessica Fletcher)

Put it this way if the grinch stole Christmas that year, I wouldn’t exactly be over-exerting myself to try and stop him.

This year a few of us decided to stir things up and let me tell you…you can never have enough sauce.

The 2011 xmas party is a secret yet to be revealed and we decided to make a teaser trailer as a lead up to our short film to get everyone excited.

Check out the youtube video below!

Only in New Zealand

August 5, 2010

I stumbled across these nutty sports whilst doing some work for our client, Tourism New Zealand. Thought I’d share them:

1) Pomparkour Ladder Sport
This sport is either invented by V energy or just used in it’s latest campaign, but it’s still pretty cool.

2) High speed barefoot long boarding … on a freeway!
These guys are just nuts. Spot the guy with no shoes on.

iPad vs Kindle vs Rock

January 28, 2010

So how does an iPad really stack up against its competitors? We did a quick analysis and compared it with the Kindle and a ten thousand year old rock. The results are in:

Sidenote: Just for fun ok! Also full respect and homage to the original iPhone Vs Rock parody from a few years ago (author unknown) here:

The 2009 Croissant Games

October 23, 2009

On October 14th 2009, Razorfish formally joined the Publicis family. As Razorfish offices all around the globe celebrated with a glass of Bollinger and a boursin cracker, the Aussies did something a little different.

Ladies and Gentleman, Mesdames et Messieurs I give you The 2009 Croissant Games.

And some pics from the day here

White Gold’s Milkdonkulous Giveaway

October 23, 2009

If you haven’t checked out the Milkquarious rock opera yet and you’re into bizarre milk-oriented retro glam rock psychedelic warfare with unicorn pegasus cows, you should have a look and listen: www.milkquarious.com

image

The Milkquarious experience includes:

  • A lengthy but entertaining rock opera of high tongue in cheek production quality
  • Possibly more entertaining running commentary in an optional audio channel
  • A competition for students to remake scenes from the movie
  • Helpful tips for the students from the creators
  • A beat machine just for kicks

All in all a very impressive effort from Goodby Silverstein & Partners and Hi-ReS!

Extending the rock opera into a competition is a great idea. Have a look at the YouTube channel to see what it’s all about. Here’s the lowdown from White Gold himself:

Finally, some more screens from the movie for extra milky flavour…

Kleinmania. Now slightly more popular than ever.

July 9, 2009

The man who puts the Klein in Kleinmania (one of our senior designers here) was interviewed by The Publics.

“Kerning is an interesting process because it can be very time consuming and it’s usually invisible, as in you only notice it when it’s bad … To my knowledge nobody has ever died from poor kerning.”

Twitter Dating – A Reality (and not soon enough)

May 8, 2009

It was bound to happen I guess. With all the jokes and ‘stories’ about people finding dates on twitter, a company – Radaroo – have finally decided its time to devote way too much time to making it happen.

Users sign up by sending a tweet to @radaroo, specifying their gender, the gender(s) they’re interested in, and which activities they’d like to participate in on a first date. See below:

radaroo_tweet

I don’t know about you but I love mystery in a woman, and in 140 characters or less… could be just a little too much mystery for me.

Radaroo (good luck to you)

Razorfish TweetDoubler – Amazing Twitter tool that allows twice the character count

April 1, 2009

We’re pretty excited here in Australia to be the first people globally to talk about a new text compression technology just released by Razorfish, one of the worlds largest digital agencies. The Razorfish guys in white coats have developed a compression algorithm that works on text, a bit like the way jpeg compresses an image – which means HUGE news for everyone using Twitter.

Try it now! www.tweetdoubler.com

image

Twitter normally only allows 140 characters. This Razorfish web application allows you type DOUBLE the normal amount.

You simply enter the text (up to 280 characters) – the compression takes about half a second, next your compressed tweet is sent out (under 140 chars) and then automatically decompressed as the end user views the message. It’s so simple, it’s hard to believe nobody has done this before.

We believe that in the future we can optimise the algorithm, potentially allowing 1000 characters to be compressed to inside Twitter’s limits of 140 characters. This first round of beta testing will provide us with enough data to push limits in the future.

Razorfish Credits:
Thanks to the globally coordinated team who have worked around the clock to bring this to life. Make sure you say Hi to them on Twitter:

Olaf Prilo (@olafprilo) – Independent Science and Maths Consultant.
Iain McDonald (@eunmac) – Creative Director.
Stephan Lange (@Maniac13) – Project Co-ordination.
Chris Saunders (@thesaund) – Lead Coder.
Michael Kliennman – Lead Design.
Shiv Singh – (@shivsingh) Social Media Director.
David Deal (@davidjdeal) – Marketing Director.

Please note this is a beta version open for testing for today only. Enjoy & have a wonderful day 😉

Do I have a netbook or an ultra portable or a mini …?

March 18, 2009

If you are asking yourself this question, then you are in luck and you will find the answer below:

found this article by a frustrated Austin Modine and I hope it will help some of you to get out of this confusion 🙂

Most confusing emergency exit sign ever?

February 27, 2009

Best explanation of this sign so far…
1. Find the nearest three headed monster
2. Jump inside it with your children
3. Run to the right?

 image

Of course the irony is that we saw this sign whilst taking a tour of the Queen Mary 2. Happy to say that there was a pretty amazing lifeboat only 10 ft away from where we took this shot.

Christian Bale Vs Microsoft Songwriter

February 3, 2009

This is what you get when you mashup Christian Bale going insane on the set of a movie and use Microsoft Songwriter to compose a song to it. Just a bit of fun – we still like Batman.

Warning – contains adult language 😉

Oh, man this made me laugh.

I’d say our Surface tables were easier to open than this and we needed a crowbar.

Jason Wood, Australian Politician speech goes terribly wrong. Very funny.

August 8, 2008

From the Australian Parliament, possibly the worst reading goof of all time. The  word ‘implication’ was a struggle but the word ‘organism’ came out about as wrong as it gets! This clip is doing the rounds via email as an attachment at the moment so thought it was worth a post. Nice come back from Kevin Wood in the interview at the end.

Who is Jason Wood?
He is the federal member for La Trobe in Victoria Australia.

He’s certainly got my vote next time. Jason Wood for PM 🙂
